Well Water in Silver Spring, Maryland
Well water in the Silver Spring, Maryland area can be very acidic because of the lack of large areas of limestone formations in the ground. There are areas of hard water here and there but not as prominent as in other areas further west.
Some areas near the Washington DC Beltway that are not on municipal water are very acidic and aggressive. We have tested wells with a moderate amount of ferrous (clear water) iron and some sediment problems. By and large most houses on wells in this area will benefit from an Acid Neutralizer and Water Softener with Carbon Filtration.
