Well & City Water Treatment Systems
The water conditioning control valve is the "Brain" of any treatment system and is what differentiates one system from another. Brass valves used by most water treatment and plumbing companies contain lead and can leak due to electrolysis or corrosive water conditions. Most expensive and so called "Stainless Steel" mineral tanks are not transparent and still have a fiberglass liner on the inside that is there for leak protection because these tanks are still welded together. Still others use valves that have a combination of metal and plastic parts that restrict your pressure and are difficult to service.

Because Mr. Water™ services nearly every make and model of water conditioning equipment sold in Maryland; we have seen what works and what doesn't. We build every new Heavy Duty EcoSoft® Water Treatment System with you the customer in mind. We use valves made of Noryl® plastic manufactured by General Electric - the world's leader. Parts and supplies for these valves are widely available and easy for a trained technician to service. With service flow rates of up to 25 GPM, if you are replacing an old system, there is a good chance you will see a water pressure INCREASE. As you can see from the photos, we use opaque fiberglass tanks - making these professionally installed whole house purification systems easy to service because a homeowner can shine a flashlight thru our tanks to see when the system is due for servicing. We offer both automatic "time clock" and "electronic demand" units for both well and city water-custom built for YOUR water problems. Not only is a system designed with YOUR water quality in mind, we can custom build equipment to fit in the tightest of spaces - all we need is access to the incoming water line, and in most cases (but not all), access to a drain and 110v electrical outlet.

This heavy duty electronic demand water softening system was installed to treat hard and irony well water that caused iron bacteria to stink up their water heater. The bacteria die off after the iron is removed from the water. A 30 micron prefilter for black sediment and GAC (carbon) postfilter for bad taste and odor was also installed. Here is a photo (left) of a Culligan city water softening system that had serious problems with it’s electronics – the customer was upset because the system was only a little over a year old. The local dealership said it was out of warranty, wasn’t worth fixing, and the only thing they could do was sell them a new one. This customer wanted soft water right away so they gave us a call. In the picture on the right we installed a rebuilt water softener with a new Autotrol 268/460i electronic demand valve and used resin tank. This customer called us because the brine tank overflowed on their new Aqua Pure city water softening system and flooded their basement. We found that the piston cartridge on this Simplex valve was defective causing it to jam between cycles. We were able to get a new cartridge and replaced it for our customer and now the system works just fine. Repaired for a customer on a tight budget in Hagerstown, MD 21742. |

This customer called us because their old water softener could not keep-up with all of the iron in their water; it was clogging with sediment, and a hassle to operate. To combat their irony water and sediment we installed our standard EcoSoft® 32,000 grain electronic demand water softener with 30 micron prefilter and GAC (carbon) postfilter. This customer found our ad in the Washington County yellow pages and gave us a call. They were selling their investment home in West Virginia and needed a system to treat their hard, irony, and smelly well water. These are pictures of what we recommended after testing the water; our standard EcoSoft® 32,000 grain electronic demand water softener, 30 micron Big Blue prefilter for grit and sediment, and a GAC (carbon) Big Blue postfilter that will make the water smell and taste allot better. Most of the smell was from iron bacteria on the anode rod in the new water heater; with the water softener removing the iron from the water – the bacteria have nothing to feed on and the stinky water disappeared. This customer compared us to just about everyone in the area that sold water treatment equipment. They called because of dry skin and the strong smell of chlorine in the water. They live about a mile from a WSSC Water Filtration Plant in Montgomery County. When we tested the water we found over 3ppm of total chlorine – a very high amount by anyone’s standards. This amount of chlorine is not good for you; most is absorbed through the skin when bathing, not necessarily ingested by drinking the water. A gas compound called trihalomethane (THM) is also created by the reaction of chlorine with organic materials. At high levels this byproduct is a suspect carcinogen, and has been linked to miscarriages. The customer elected to purchase our standard EcoSoft® 32,000 grain electronic demand water softener for hardness (tested at 10gpg) and 20” heavy duty Big Blue filter housing that holds (2) two standard 10” GAC (carbon) filters or one 20” GAC (carbon) filter. This customer spotted one of our yard signs on his way back from work; looked us up online and decided to call. His copper pipes were getting thin from not servicing a problematic acid neutralizer and the water had a metallic taste. This customer called us after receiving a couple confusing estimates from some local Ecowater and Culligan dealerships and decided purchase equipment from us. The problem with the estimates from the other guys was that they just couldn’t figure out how to install the system for their hard and smelly water in the confined space with the well tank. They simply could not have found a better company in this sort of situation; we professionally installed the EcoSoft® 32,000 grain electronic demand resin tank, Stenner peristaltic chemical feed pump and injector, 30 micron prefilter, 20’’ GAC (carbon) postfilter, and squeezed it between the well tank and water heater leaving enough room for service.
